Adult Learner Awards

TWICS is delighted to be supporting Southampton City Council with the Adult Learner Awards which is taking place at the City Art Gallery on Thursday the 21st June.  We are delighted that the new Mayor of Southampton (tbc) has the date pencilled in the diary.

Preparations are being made for the nomination forms to go out to all of the organisations that receive funding from Southampton City Council through their Adult Skills and Community Funding budget.  The closing date for all nominations is Tuesday 8th May 2018 so organisations will need to be quick to get them returned.

Nominees will receive a personal invitation to the event and will be able to take two friends/family members with them to help celebrate their success.

We are delighted that following their success last year the Community Choir from Own 2 Feet will be repeating their performance but with a new programme of songs.  This item was so well received last year that we knew we had to get them back!

The categories for this years Awards are:

  • Learning in Functional Skills – Maths, English, ICT and ESOL
  • Learning for Health & Wellbeing
  • Learning with Family or Community (group)
  • Learner demonstrating significant progression
  • Outstanding Learner
  • Outstanding Volunteer
  • Outstanding Tutor
